    Trainee CBT Instructor

    Are you an experienced rider who meets the basic DVSA eligibility requirements but needs down-training? We are looking for professional, safety-focused candidates to develop into CBT instructors with London Motorcycle Training.

    Requirements

    • Aged 21 or over
    • Full GB or Northern Ireland driving licence, or a registered EU/EEA licence
    • Full Category A2 or A motorcycle entitlement held for at least 3 years
    • Able to pass a criminal record check and meet DVSA vision requirements
    • A fit and proper person with strong communication skills and a professional approach

    How long must I have held my motorcycle licence?

    You must have held full Category A2 or A motorcycle entitlement for at least 3 years.

    What is the minimum age?

    You must be 21 or over to become a CBT instructor.

    Do I need previous teaching experience?

    No. Teaching experience is not required, but clear communication, patience and a professional approach are essential.

    What does the training process involve?

    We review your suitability, provide role-play and down-training, then introduce supervised live-course experience when appropriate. We support your DVSA application once you can deliver a full CBT course to the required standard.

    Is part-time or weekend work possible?

    Yes. Suitable candidates may be able to work part-time or weekends, depending on LMT's operational needs.
